Group Meeting Process

Beginning after Labor Day (September 8), the Peace Regathering Task Force and Congregation Council have approved our first phase of re-gathering in person (assuming local hospitalization numbers do not spike). There is a process to follow if you would like to have a meeting at church…so please read carefully!

Each year the ELCA designates a day and encourages its member churches to serve their neighbor by completing a service project. The date this year is September 13th. Pastor Carolyn has shared a calendar which you could use daily for the whole month. We will not be able to participate as a group to do a service project so here are a couple of additional ideas for service for yourself or your family:

New Testament Studies

In Community Connections from September through May, we will have the opportunity to study books of the New Testament. Three Sundays a month, we will look at a specific book from the New Testament or a series of passages around a single theme. Read more…


Rally Day August 23

We  look forward to celebrating an online version of Rally Day on August 23rd at 11am! Everyone is invited to join us for a fun day of fellowship and games online. This will be a time for our kids and adults to reconnect online and check-in with each other. We will share some highs and lows, and play a few games that even our youngest children can enjoy!

One of the sources and stories in the article “The Spirituality of Natural Burials” is Peace member Pastor Rodger Ericson. Some of you may know that Rodger is passionate about making burial practices more meaningful, using fewer resources and being kinder to our planet, and more affordable. Help May Be Available

As we continue through this pandemic it is possible that you or someone you know will be seriously affected. The impact may be financial, social, nutritional, or something else. There is a possibility that resources are available right here at Peace. One example of a resource are 59 shelf stable meals that have recently been donated.


Cross Trails Ministry Donations

As is our habit during months where there are five Sundays, Cross Trails Ministry is this month’s opportunity to give to a very worthy ELCA organization. Cross Trails Ministry has summer camps for children and youth at Camp Chrysalis in Kerrville and Ebert Ranch in Harper, and holds retreats throughout the year, including confirmation weekend retreats. Though our times of remote worship and learning have both extended beyond what many of us expected…a new academic year is beginning, and we want to surround this transition with blessing…maybe now more than ever.
