Join us for a discussion forum (March 10) and a bible study (March 17) on the current issue of human trafficking. What is Human Trafficking? As defined by Webster’s dictionary, human trafficking is organized criminal activity in which human beings are treated as possessions to be controlled and exploited-as by being forced into prostitution or involuntary labor. It is the second largest growing criminal industry in the U.S., just behind drug trafficking. Many Americans are unaware of the extent to which human trafficking is an issue in their communities. Others may be aware of some aspects of the problem but may feel powerless to do anything about it. But as law enforcement and others document a growing industry in human trafficking across the country, what can and should our community do to combat the problem? So, whose job is it to address these issues? And how can we realistically take on such a big and complex problem?
