Stage 5 Protocols

Recommendations from the Peace Regathering Task Force in View of Travis County Return to Stage 5 of COVID-19 Risk-Based Guidelines

January 11, 2022

WORSHIP (protocols while Travis County is at risk level Stage 5)

Those Not Leading Worship

Those not leading worship are asked to connect to the live stream from home while Travis County is in risk level Stage 5.   This will be re-evaluated once the county moves to risk level Stage 4.

Those Leading Worship including Musicians and Singers

Worship Leaders are asked to gather at the Peace campus for live streaming the 10 AM service each Sunday.   Everyone is encouraged to pre-screen (see criteria below) before coming to the campus.

Leaders are urged to follow public health guidance and if unvaccinated or high risk stay home and switch to a later leadership date when infection rates move to a lower risk stage.

Families of Worship Leaders are asked to connect from home for their safety.  Exceptions can be requested through the Regathering Task Force.

Worship Leaders will remain masked at all times and will keep a social distance from each other.   Microphones will be available where needed.  Singing masks are recommended.

We work to keep this group to ten (10) or fewer each week:  Pastor, Assisting Minister/Lector, Children’s Sermon, Music Director, 3-4 instrumentalists (non-wind instruments only), 1-2 singers (maximum 2).

Singers (maximum 2) and Music Director are able to practice together while masked and socially distant.  Meeting times for practice should be requested through the Regathering Task Force (Lu Kimpel and Pastor) for planning purposes and added to the church calendar.  A roster of group attendees must be furnished following the meeting (Lu Kimpel).

This small ensemble (1-2 singers maximum) can sing hymns, liturgy, and special music with no limitations while masked and socially distant.

Communion services will remain virtual while in Stage 5.  The next communion service is planned for January 30.  The Worship and Planning Committee will revise the details of liturgies as needed to be in line with current safety guidelines.

No shared food or drink will be available while in risk level Stage 5.

SMALL GROUPS OF TEN (10) OR LESS (protocols while Travis County is at risk level Stage 5)

Group members are urged to follow public health guidance and if unvaccinated or high risk stay home to reduce personal risk and that of others.    Everyone is encouraged to pre-screen (see criteria below) before coming to the campus.

Group members will remain masked at all times and will keep a social distance from each other.   The group should be held to ten (10) members.  Groups greater than 10 should plan to meet virtually.

Meeting times should be requested through the Regathering Task Force (Lu Kimpel and Pastor) for planning purposes and added to the church calendar.  A roster of group attendees must be furnished following the meeting (Lu Kimpel).

No shared food or drink while in risk level Stage 5.
