We celebrated 30 years of Stephen Ministry at Peace on May 25, 2025 and blessed all those who have benefited from Stephen Ministry—care receivers and Stephen Ministers.
After much discussion, the Stephen Leaders and current active Stephen Ministers decided to put Stephen Ministry at Peace on pause for a while and take a time of Sabbath rest. Due to changing seasons in the lives of current Stephen Ministers and the low number of current caring relationships, it makes sense to have a pause and time of fallow in this ministry. Other nearby congregations have Stephen Ministry programs, and our Stephen Leaders will work to connect you with them through referrals and contact information.

If you feel you could benefit from the Christ-centered care of a Stephen Minister or know someone who might or would like to know more about Stephen Ministry, please email stephenministry@peaceaustin.org with your contact information or call the church office and a Stephen Leader will contact you.
There are times when every one of us experiences difficulties such as:
- Loss of a loved one
- Hospitalization
- Spiritual Crisis
- Divorce
- Job Loss
- Disability
- Loneliness
- Cancer
- Imprisonment
- Infertility
- Deployment
- Caregiving…
God never intended for us to go through these experiences alone. That’s why God has brought us together in worship — and why we have Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who have received 50 hours of training to minister to people inside and outside of our congregation who are experiencing a crisis or going through a difficult time in life. Every week, a Stephen Minister will meet with you — privately and confidentially — to listen, care, encourage, support, and reflect Christ’s presence in your life.
If you’d like to learn more about Stephen Ministry for yourself or someone else (inside or outside our congregation), please email us with your contact information or call the church office and and a Stephen Leader will contact you.
We can provide care by telephone, video conferencing, or other methods needed to maintain social distance if you have health concerns.
