Lent Sacred Time

Lenten Sacred Time Invitation from the Bishop’s Office
An Invitation from Bishop Sue
Immerse yourself in the gift of Sacred Time during Lent

This Lenten season, we offer the gift of Sacred Time to all people in the Southwestern Texas Synod. We invite you to set aside an hour once a week to gather with fellow disciples for guided prayer, dwelling in ancient stories from scripture, and sharing your own stories of faith. The theme is: For the love of God our hearts confess… loneliness, fear, thirst, rebellion, joy.

From Pastor Lisa Hoelscher… “Every year, my heart pulls me closer to God, especially during the holy season of Lent, but occasionally my mind or schedule gets in the way. During Advent last year, I felt the same tug to draw near to God and made the commitment to use Sacred Time as a faith practice to help me prepare to remember the birth of our Savior. Over those weeks, I usually joined my group on Zoom with a feeling of reluctance or impatience, thinking that I was too busy to stop what I was doing for Sacred Time, and every week, God showed up in meaningful ways that renewed my Spirit. Sacred Time went from another item on my ‘to do’ list to an essential faith practice that enriched my life and indeed brought me closer to God. If you, too, have felt a tug to encounter God, I hope you’ll join Sacred Time and be part of a movement of people whose lives are transformed by God.”

You can join any group facilitated by LEAD on Mondays or Tuesdays – times will be listed on the sign up page. There will also be a weekly cross-generational resource for families to use at home. When you sign up apply the code “SacredTimeGift” to register for free. You can register here.
