CROP Walk 2018

CROP Hunger Walks (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) are sponsored by Church World Service, a national ecumenical and international relief organization.  Peace Lutheran Church is excited to be joining again with the Leander-Cedar Park CROP Hunger Walk to raise money for combating hunger. This year the Walk will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 15, at the Twin Lakes YMCA in Cedar Park. Walkers last year enjoyed the shady paved path along beautiful Brushy Creek. The path is stroller and pet friendly, too.

Last year 26 Peace Lutheran Church individuals and families signed up as Walkers (fundraisers). Through their efforts and with God’s help raised over $7200. Most of the funds raised goes to Church World Service and they distribute the money to hunger relief projects around the world. The Leander-Cedar Park CROP Walk sends 25% of the donations to Hill Country Community Ministries.

Our goal for 2018 is to raise $7000. We hope to have 30 Walkers from PLC. To get a Walker(fundraiser) packet, please contact Team Captains Laura Eichner, Rodger Ericson , or Linda Parsells . Even if you will not be able to walk with us on April 15, you can participate as a “Spirit Walker” by getting a fundraiser packet and asking friends, neighbors, and co-workers for their support.

Walkers are encouraged to Register at the website listed below, join the Peace Lutheran Church Team, and then solicit donations from distant friends and relatives using e-mail or other social media sites. Please help to end hunger in our community and around the world by using this link: https://www.crophungerwalk.org/leandertx. Click on the tab for Register if you are a Walker. To donate only, click on the tab for Donate, and select the Peace Lutheran Team or the PLC Walker of your choice.
