Celebrating Holidays with Peace Lutheran Church

Welcome to the New Church Year! Here is a brief guide to our season’s worship opportunities:

Sundays in Advent
10:00 am December 3 – December 24

During the season of Advent, we reflect on the genealogy of Jesus and the whole people of God, from generation to generation. Our space will be set up a little differently, and we’ll be reflecting on our many gifts and God’s people in various ways.

The Longest Night
Thursday, December 21 at 7:00 pm

As Christmas nears the nights lengthen, and we remember that Christ comes into the midst of a broken world. For many of us the sparkle, cheer, and brightness of the season grate against our raw, grieving places, where hope feels distant. On the night of the solstice…the longest night of the year…we gather in darkness to speak our sadness and to wait for the presence of God.

Christmas Eve Candlelight & Communion Worship
Sunday, December 24 at 4:00 & 8:00 pm

We worship with candlelight and Holy Communion to welcome the Christ Child – who is Emmanuel, God with us.

First Sunday of Christmas
Sunday, December 31 at 10:00 am

We come to the Word and Holy Communion as the Twelve Days of Christmas enfold us in continued celebration…even in the midst of the suffering and injustice in the world.

Epiphany Worship
Sunday January 7 at 10:00 am

We celebrate the end of the Christmas season with the arrival of the magi, who followed the wild star to the Holy Family. On this night we worship, and receive “star words” which offer a kind of guiding intention for the coming year.

Baptism of Our Lord Sunday
Sunday, January 14 at 10:00 am

We begin our worship chalking the church door and offering a blessing for our church home – an Epiphany-tide tradition observed throughout the world. We proceed to celebrate Christ’s baptism…and the gift of baptism poured out for the whole world.

Services will be on campus and live streamed.
