Board Ministries

The purposes of the Board of Evangelism & Parish Communication are:

• Bring the Gospel to the unchurched
• Enlist of all of God's people in the work of spreading the Gospel
• Deepen the faith and active ministry of the members of this congregation
• Present the public a Christian Image which will reflect favorably upon the work of Christ and of the congregation as God's instrument
• Publicize the work of the congregation

• Greeters
• Visitor Follow-Up
• Information Classes and encouraging new membership
• Activity Packets for Children (for use during worship)
• Internal Education on Evangelism
• Promoting Evangelism among the congregation via events like "Bring a Friend" Sundays & Neighborhood Door Hanger Campaigns
• Advertisements, articles, brochures
• Website
• Internal publications like the newsletter (Messenger),the calender & the directory

Board Ministries

The purposes of the Board of Fellowship are:

• Strengthen the fellowship between congregation members to enhance spiritual growth
• Integrate new members into the life of the congregation
• Build Christian community in the congregation through the continuous development of significant relational groups of careing and sharing
• Foster mutual cooperation, trust and enjoyment among the members of the congregation

Some of the specific ministries the Board of Fellowship oversees are:

• Fellowship time (between services)
• Dinner groups
• Congregational meals & special events (Pot lucks, Rally Day luncheon, Lenten suppers, and others)
• Peace sports teams (when active) & special activities

Board Ministries

• Maintenance and repair of Church property
• General protection of the congregation against loss or damage of whatever nature

• Maintain the buildings and grounds
• Organized workdays as appropriate
• Set policies for building and equipment use

• Hill Country Christmas Bureau

The purposes of the Board of Spiritual Life are:

• Spiritual welfare of the pastor(s), staff and congregation members, individually and corporately
• Supervision of everything pertaining to congregational worship

• Care for staff and congregation (salaries, job descriptions, mediation)
• Coordinate member care and visitation (include rides to worship, meals for the ill, funeral dinners, etc)

• Worship Planning & Bulletins
• Worship Leader Training of Assisting Ministers, Ushers, Lectors, Communion Assistants, Acolytes, Altar Guild

Fundraising Coordination

If you have a good cause for you would think it would be good for the church to undertake a fundraiser, please contact our Stewardship Board so that they can help you coordinate it.

The purposes of the Board of Stewardship are:

• Develop good stewardship attitudes in the congregation in regard to time, talents and treasures
• Provide training and utilization of members for the congregation for the work of Christ's Kingdom
• Ensure the financial stability of the congregation and its work through a developed program of dedicated, proportionate, first fruits giving
• Set financial policies and procedures that ensure the wisest care and use of God's gifts

• Coordinate Time & Talents
• Stewardship program and Consecration Sunday
• Train and supervise deposit tellers (counting offerings)
• Set and maintain financial policies and procedures

The purposes of the Peace Preschool Board are:

• Facilitate communication between our church and our preschool
• Provide opportunities for interaction between church members and the families of our preschool
• Formulate, approve, and present our preschool budget to our congregation

Some of the specific ministries the Board oversees are:

• Religious education
• Set policies for preschool
• Disperse paychecks to our preschool staff as well as payments for bills incurred by our preschool
• File proper tax forms with the IRS

Parish Pay - Confidential Giving over the web

Peace Lutheran Church has contracted with Parish Pay to facilitate the secure confidential giving through the following website. Individuals can go to the following link, which is specific to our church, and sign up. You can manage your own giving by creating a user name and password. All giving is processed from the bank account or credit card you specify on the 5th of each month. You have until the 3rd of each month to make any changes.
