Some of Peace's Ministries

Worship |
||
|
From the earliest days of the Church, Christian worship has been marked by a pattern of Gathering, Word, Meal, and Sending. These basic elements -- revealed in the New Testament, the writings of the early Church, the Lutheran Confessions, and ecumenical documents -- constitute the center of the Church's worship. Holy Communion is celebrated weekly at Peace, in response to our understanding of this sacrament as an event that unites us with God in Christ, with each other, and with the Church's mission in the world. In this meal we receive the forgiveness of sins and are connected to the saving grace of God. By Jesus' own invitation and through his mercy, all baptized Christians, regardless of denominational affiliation, are welcome to join in the celebration of Holy Communion at Peace. The Lutheran Church affirms and proclaims the real presence of Christ in the bread and wine. To guests, strangers, and all in need, the Church offers these good things of God's grace. |

Music Ministry |
||
|
Peace Lutheran Church's music ministry is served by many fine and dedicated musicians
who recognize the value and importance of quality music to the celebration of the liturgy.
A liturgical musician's primary ministry is to support the prayer and singing of the
congregation. Peace features a pleasing blend of traditional and contemporary styles of
Christian music. For anyone who feels called to this ministry, Peace provides the following opportunities: Sanctuary Choir,
Two Handbell Ensembles, Brass Ensemble, and instrumentalists of every kind (guitars, flutes, violins,
cellos, bass, percussion, etc.).

Small Groups |
||
|
God has called us to live together with Jesus Christ in mutual care and support. In
order to build this Christian community, small groups of people come together to share
their lives and care for each other. This is the Church in its smallest and most vital
unit. This is where people find community, roots, fellowship, and belonging in the Church.
Some examples of the small groups ministries at Peace include Men in Mission, Dinner Groups, andVia de Cristo groups.

Labyrinth |
||
|
Peace Lutheran Church has an outdoor labyrinth, which is patterned after the classical
eleven-circuit labyrinth embedded in the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France. The
labyrinth is not a maze, or a puzzle to be solved. There are no confusing choices,
dead-ends, or cul-de-sacs in the labyrinth. Walking the prayer path of the labyrinth is a
tool for meditation and spiritual growth. By following the path to, and from, the center,
the seeker can use the labyrinth to quiet the mind and to find peace and illumination.
Along the way, one realizes that the labyrinth serves as a metaphor for one's spiritual
journey. You are invited to walk our labyrinth's peaceful path with an open heart and an
open mind.
