High school students are unique individuals! They are bright, insightful, and intense; but they still know when to play. Peace welcomes high school students to share in a variety of activities that incorporate all of these elements in a safe and accepting environment. Gatherings include monthly get-togethers in students’ homes, community service projects, and annual trips to wider church gatherings. Students meet every Sunday at 9:45 AM for study and discussion. Peace supports the camping programs provided by Cross Trails Ministry. Their programs and retreat options serve students in second grade through high school, adults, and families. For current schedules, see www.crosstrails.org.
Seventh- and eighth-grade students are lively and full of questions about God and the world! Ministry for these students allows for fun, service, and an environment to explore new ideas. These students also participate in the Confirmation program.
Fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students are fun-loving and energetic! They are discovering a new independence and have many interests. The goal of this ministry is to create a safe place for students to have fun and build relationships with their peers and caring adults through fun and community service. The students meet monthly from September to May.
Fourth-grade students take a highlighter and a Bible and join the pastor in a walk through the stories of our faith in the Old and New Testaments. Bibles are presented by their parents as part of the worship service following the two, one-hour sessions. First Bible Class will be scheduled in the fall, 2012.
Holy Communion is celebrated at all Sunday worship services at Peace. Children who are ready to receive communion for the first time may participate in four, one-hour classes. Ages of participants usually range from first to fifth grade, depending on the child’s readiness to participate in worship and communion. Students participating will receive First Communion on All Saints’ Sunday, November 4, 2012.
